I don't have a lot of time for fandom as it is, so really, obvious grammar errors, an aboundance of spelling mistakes or really just wooden phrasing, it turns me off. Because those things distract me from the story that I want to sink into. So, for me, I would say that yes, the basis of what I consider "well written" is that it looks as if the author didn't just close their eyes and started typing.
